Serious crash forces officials to close State Road 46 in Bartholomew County
BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. — A serious crash forced officials to close a portion of State Road 46 in Bartholomew County late Tuesday afternoon.

In a Facebook post published around 4:20 p.m., Bartholomew County Sheriff Chris Lane reported that State Road 46 was closed at the Bartholomew-Brown County Line to allow deputies to clean up and investigate a personal injury crash.

Lane encouraged drivers to avoid the area while deputies work at the crash scene. The sheriff did not provide a timetable for the roadway’s reopening.

Photos the sheriff posted on Facebook show a medical helicopter responding to the scene. BCSO did not indicate exactly how many people were injured in the crash.
