Wednesday temperatures: Thanks to more clouds and maybe just a little bit of rain, temperatures on Wednesday will not be quite as hot. We will get off to a rather warm start Wednesday morning. Lows will begin in the low to mid-70s. Temperatures Wednesday afternoon will soar into the upper 80s to lower 90s, which is a few degrees cooler than what we are experiencing today.
Rain will be rather isolated: Futurecast shows that strong to severe thunderstorms that develop to the northwest of our area will likely weaken as they move toward our area this evening, and will probably dissipate as they move into the area late Tuesday night. As temperatures warm up Wednesday afternoon, a few isolated t’showers will be possible mainly over the northwestern third of the area in NE TX, SE OK, and part of SW AR. We will then see another slim shot at some rain on Thursday.
Long-range outlook: Upper-level high pressure will briefly build back over our area by early this weekend. This will shut off any hopes of rain and bring some of the hottest temperatures of the year so far, as highs will soar into the middle 90s and lows will warm into the middle 70s. The ridge will shift to the west by the end of the weekend, allowing several disturbances to bring rain to our area starting on Saturday night and Sunday. Temperatures next week will not be as hot with highs falling to near 90. Overnight lows will ease into the lower 70s.
