NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — With the temperature starting to rise, the New Orleans Recreation Department has opened the pools!
Thirteen pools to be exact, with four more scheduled to open later in the summer. Officials say there are plenty of ways to take advantage of the facilities.
“Communities citywide will have somewhere to go for safe swim lessons, safe family swim, safe community swim, as well as our campers, our seniors and everyone have pools that’ll be open throughout the city of New Orleans to be able to swim at no cost,” said NORD Commission CEO Larry Barabino Jr.
NORD is also looking for lifeguards, and will offer free courses for kids and adults to learn first aid and CPR.
