Family of six-year-old Korbin awaits justice as bond hearing is moved

ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) — The family of six-year-old Korbin gathered at the St. Landry Parish Court Annex for the bond hearing of Patrick Greene, only to find out that an additional hearing has been scheduled for Thursday morning.

“The bond hearing got pushed to Thursday because of Gwen’s law. In domestic cases, they’re able to push it out for up to five days. So, it’s been pushed to 9 a.m. on Thursday,” said Hal Modglin, Korbin’s Grandfather.

After hearing the news of the bond hearing being moved, Korbin’s family moved to the parish courthouse to pray and stand together as their 6-year-old loved one is fighting for his life.

Korbin’s grandmother says his faith will keep him strong just as it did when he recovered from his brain tumor.

“When he went to church after the brain tumor, he sat there and he said, ‘Memaw, if I raise my hand, Jesus is going to make my arm work.’ And he started singing: ‘Way maker, Miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness. My God, that is who you are.’ That’s Corbin. Every day.” she said.

Korbin’s grandfather says the plan for his family to stand together at Thursday’s hearing remains the same, saying Greene will face his charges as Modglin’s family seeks justice for Korbin.

“At that time, all the full charges will be read, and he’s kept in custody. And we’re praying at that time that he will not be granted bond. This monster does not deserve to be on the streets,” he said.

Again, the hearing has been scheduled for Thursday at 9 a.m., and Greene will remain in the St. Landry Parish jail until that hearing takes place.
