2025 General Election Results: Jackson City Council

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The unofficial results have been released for the Jackson municipal elections for the City Council seats.

Ward 1

The Ward 1 race is too close to call. With 10 out of 10 precincts reporting, Jasmine Barnes (D) received 1,713 votes, incumbent Councilman Ashby Foote (I) received 1,738 votes and Grace Greene (I) received 1,728 votes. Affidavits are still being counted.

Ward 2

Incumbent Councilwoman Montyne “Tina” Clay (D) is the apparent winner in the Jackson City Council Ward 2 race. The unofficial results showed Clay defeated challenger Bethany Williams-Sherif (R).

Ward 3

Incumbent Councilman Kenneth Stokes (D) is the apparent winner in the Jackson City Council Ward 3 race. The unofficial results showed Stokes defeated challenger Marques Jackson (I).

Ward 5

Incumbent Councilman Vernon Hartley (D) is the apparent winner in the Jackson City Council Ward 5 race. The unofficial results showed Hartley defeated challenger Ray McCants (I).

Ward 7

Kevin Parkinson (D) is the apparent winner of the Jackson City Council Ward 7 race. The unofficial results showed Parkinson defeated Ron Aldridge (I) and Taylor Turcotte (R).
