Shooting in Baton Rouge leaves 1 dead, police confirm

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department confirmed one person is dead after a shooting on Monday evening.

The incident took place in the 10000 block of David Drive near Sharp Lane around 5:45 p.m.

According to police, the victim was shot and pronounced dead at the scene.

The East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office was called.

There is no word on what led up to the shooting.
