BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — Daniel Ritschel, 38, formerly of Belvidere, has been accused of rape and faces multiple felony charges of sexual abuse of a minor.
According to Boone County court records, Ritschel was taken into custody this week on an arrest warrant that was issued on Thursday, May 29th.
According to prosecutors, Ritschel committed multiple acts of forced sexual contact at a Belvidere home over three days in February of 2008, when he was 21 years old.

He is charged with one count of Criminal Sexual Assault by Force, three counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse of a Minor between the ages of 13 and 16.
Ritschel, who currently lives in Clarendon Hills, made his first appearance in court on Tuesday.
