According to family, Jenna Sharp is currently in critical condition in the ICU at Primary Children’s Hospital. She was leaving a church dance when she was struck.
“We’ve been deeply moved by the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and our community. Your kind messages, prayers, and care have meant more than we can express and are truly helping to carry us through,” the family said in a statement.
“She is so loved by our community, her family is loved, and we’re grateful to be able to be a part of sending that healing love to her and her family,” Holly Voisin, representative for the Sharp family and the person who organized the vigil, said in an interview with ABC4.com.
In their statement, the family extended their gratitude to the first responders, nurses, doctors, and staff at the hospital, saying, “Their quick action, skill, and compassion have made all the difference during the most critical moments of Jenna’s care.”
Voisin said that the family is spending time with Jenna in the hospital. She also stated that Willowcreek Middle School is providing services for any youth who were affected or may have been at the dance.
The Sharp family has requested privacy during this time, and they also asked that people refrain from spreading unverified information online.
