Discounted tuition offered to employees of Texarkana business

TEXARKANA, Texas (KTAL/KMSS)—Texas A&M University-Texarkana (TAMUT) is partnering with Wholesale Electric Supply Co., Inc. (WES) to offer discounted tuition for company employees.

“The tuition discount is applicable to programs of all academic levels, including baccalaureate, graduate, certificate, and micro-credential,” a press release stated. “Classes are available in face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats, and there is no fee needed to apply.”

Employees who are new students at TAMUT enrolling in at least six credit hours can also receive the First Flight Scholarship, which offers their first class for free.

“We’re proud to partner with Texas A&M University-Texarkana to support the continued growth and education of our employees,” said Buddy McCulloch, President and CEO of WES. “This initiative reflects our commitment to investing in our team’s development, helping them build new skills and advance their careers while strengthening our overall workforce. By making education more accessible, we’re creating opportunities that benefit our people, our organization, and our community.”

The tuition discount is effective immediately and can be used toward Summer 2025 and Fall 2025 classes.

“We are proud to announce that our newest community partner is Wholesale Electric Supply Co., Inc.,” said A&M-Texarkana President Dr. Ross Alexander. “For nearly 80 years, this family-owned business has provided excellent customer service to those in need of electrical and power-related supplies and design. We are pleased to now support their employees as they continue with their education goals.”
