The Oak Grove Police Department said officers went sent to a home on Potomac Avenue just before 10 p.m. on Friday, May 30 to respond to a fight involving people who were “possibly armed with weapons.”
When law enforcement arrived at the home, they reportedly spoke with the victim and witnesses. During the investigation, officials said they learned that 24-year-old Jonathan Ortiz, of Oak Grove, Kentucky, showed up at the victim’s home with two friends.
Ortiz was reportedly upset about a personal matter and assaulted the victim after entering the home without permission.
Police said they couldn’t find Ortiz—who is an active-duty solider—after the incident, but he later cooperated with military officials and surrendered to law enforcement.
The 24-year-old was charged with second-degree burglary and was booked in the Christian County Jail.
No additional details were released.
