The San Francisco Fire Department returned to the hiking trail shortly before 2 p.m. Sunday to rescue a person near the bottom of the oceanside cliff. A California Highway Patrol helicopter also responded to the scene to assist with the rescue. An SFFD firefighter aboard the helicopter was lowered down to the victim, video of the rescue shows.
“San Francisco Fire Department units arrived on the scene, and with a quick deployment of rescue firefighters from Battalion 7 and Rescue 1, the adult individual was located, stabilized and evaluated on the cliff by [firefighters],” SFFD said.
On Saturday, a different person was rescued at the exact same location around 5 p.m. Neither of the fall victims needed an ambulance after their rescue.
