Woodburn police say officers with their department along with Oregon State Police troopers responded to reports of an erratic driver on Highway 99E toward Woodburn around 7:30 p.m. that Saturday.

Callers reported that a person driving a maroon-colored minivan was weaving in and out of traffic, driving into oncoming lanes and speeding, police say.

Eventually, the minivan driver hit a motorcyclist in the northbound lanes of North Pacific Highway in Woodburn before leaving the scene of the crash, police say.

Alvarez-Gonzalez was arrested a short time later on the same road, police say. She faces charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants (DUII), reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, and hit-and-run of property.

Meanwhile, an unidentified bystander stopped to help the motorcyclist get their bearings and retrieve their damaged license plate.

The driver of this motorcycle was hit by a driver on May 24, 2025. Woodburn police are searching for the motorcyclist to help their investigation, June 2, 2025 (Woodburn PD)

The motorcycle’s license plate, caught by a nearby security camera, read “9J3036.” The motorcyclist, riding a 1997 Honda GL1500, has yet to be identified, and police are on the hunt for any witnesses who may have information to share.

Police say they’ve contacted the previous owner of the motorcycle, who confirmed the bike had been sold, but say the previous owner didn’t have information about its current ownership.

Please contact Woodburn Police with any information regarding the crash.
