Oregon State thumps St. Mary’s, now faces USC

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Oregon State Beavers took no chances in their Sunday elimination game against St. Mary’s College with a convincing 20-3 victory in the Corvallis Regional in the NCAA Baseball Championship.

The Beavers scored single runs in the 2nd, 4th and 5th innings and plated 2 in the 3rd. But they broke it open with 9 runs in the 6th inning, then piled on with 6 more in the 9th.

Oregon State, now 43-13-1 and the top regional seed, will play USC in what amounts to the second game of a doubleheader Sunday night. That game is scheduled to begin at 7:45 p.m.

KOIN 6 News will have more information later in the night.
