Fatal accident at Highway 79 and Buncombe Road intersection

CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A fatal accident occurred in Caddo Parish at the intersection of Highway 79 and Buncombe Road in Bethany in the early morning hours of June 1.

Caddo Parish Patrol Deputies responded to a collision between a truck and an 18-wheeler at 1:35 a.m. According to deputies, the truck was traveling southbound on Highway 79 when it drifted into the northbound lanes and struck the 18-wheeler.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Caddo Fire District 3. The driver of the 18-wheeler was treated on the scene and released.
