Bus driving simulator, food court, more at newly opened Sportran City

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)- The historic Sun Furniture building in downtown Shreveport has been reimagined. It is now Sportran City.

The ribbon was cut on the state-of-the-art facility on Texas Avenue.

The first floor will be accessible to the public and will contain a food court. The second floor is home to offices, a conference room, training classrooms, a call center, a command center, and a bus driving simulator.

The city will be adding more buses to its fleet, and the service will remain free.

Councilwoman Tabitah Taylor said, “There are not many cities of our size that offer free transportation and not just for those individuals that may be able to get up and go to work every day, but also for those individuals that have disabilities, that have impairments.”
