OPD asks for public info in morning fatal shooting

(KRON) — A Friday morning fatal shooting has the Oakland Police Department reaching out to the public for help.

The incident happened just after 9 a.m. in the 700 block of Willow Street.

OPD said its officers found the shooting victim at the scene. They were taken by paramedics to a nearby hospital where they later died.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting are unclear.

The identity of the victim is not being released until next of kin has been notified.
