Knicks Stay Alive With Dominant Game 5 Win Over Pacers at MSG

NEW YORK — Facing elimination, the New York Knicks delivered a commanding performance at Madison Square Garden on Thursday night, defeating the Indiana Pacers 111-94 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

Led by Jalen Brunson’s 32-point outburst, the Knicks cut the Pacers’ series lead to 3-2 and forced a pivotal Game 6 in Indianapolis.

Brunson, who shot 12-of-18 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, set the tone early and helped New York control the game throughout. Karl-Anthony Towns added 24 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, while Josh Hart contributed 12 points and 10 boards.

The Knicks out-rebounded the Pacers 54-47 and dominated in the paint. Their aggressive defense limited Indiana to 40.5% shooting, including just 33.3% from three-point range.

Indiana struggled to generate consistent offense, with only Bennedict Mathurin (23 points) and Pascal Siakam (15) reaching double figures among the starters. Tyrese Haliburton was held to eight points on 2-of-7 shooting.

The Pacers committed 20 turnovers, leading to 19 Knicks points. Obi Toppin scored 11 points off the bench but was a minus-26 on the night.

New York, which shot 49.4% overall, built a double-digit lead in the second quarter and never looked back. OG Anunoby and Mikal Bridges chipped in on both ends, with Anunoby adding 11 points and three steals.

Game 6 is set for Saturday in Indianapolis, where the Pacers will have another chance to close out the series.
