SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Happy Thursday, Utah! Our Thursday afternoon will feature plenty of sunshine with just a few spotty showers, primarily in the mountains. Highs will warm into the upper 80s to near 90° for the Wasatch Front, with highs in the upper 90s for SW Utah.

A stronger ridge of high pressure will build across the Beehive state Friday, bringing a drier airmass and even warmer weather. This weekend, high temperatures will be in the 90s for the first time this season, with highs in the triple digits for the first time for SW Utah. Some of our temperatures will approach record highs by Saturday and Sunday.

We look to remain mainly dry and warm until the beginning of next week. A more potent storm system may be able to break down the ridge with a trough early next week. This would mean cooler and more unsettled conditions.

Stay tuned, we’ll keep you 4Warned on-air and online!
