The Smith Entertainment Group announced on Friday that it has entered a long-term partnership with Fanatics. As part of the deal, Fanatics will run operations for all retail locations throughout the Delta Center and the online shopping experience for both the Utah Jazz and Utah Mammoth.
To prepare for the transition to Fanatics, the Team Store inside the Delta Center will temporarily close starting on Monday, June 2. The store will reopen on Monday, June 9.
In addition to the in-store merchandise, Fanatics will launch a new online retail store for the Utah Jazz later this summer. Meanwhile, Mammoth merchandise will continue to be sold through the league-wide NHL Shop network.
SEG said with Fanatics leading the retail operations for Utah’s SEG-owned sports teams, fans will have a “seamless, consistent shopping experience, regardless of how they shop for team merchandise.”
“Fanatics is a global leader in sports apparel design, manufacturing, and merchandising, and we are thrilled to leverage their expertise to offer fans a completely reimagined, tech-forward shopping experience across all retail touchpoints,” said Chris Barney, SEG President of Revenue and Commercial Strategy. “As we continue to invest in the fan experience at Delta Center and beyond, our retail strategy plays a key role in pushing boundaries and redefining how fans connect with our teams for years to come.”
Ed O’Brien, the senior vice president of business development for Fanatics, said the company was honored to join forces with SEG.
“Utah is rapidly emerging as one of America’s most passionate sports markets,” said O’Brien. “We’re committed to providing an unparalleled retail experience, delivering exceptional products for Jazz and Mammoth fans of all ages – whether in the arena, online, or anywhere they choose to shop.”
