DA: Man found guilty of molesting child during burglary in Porterville

TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 44-year-old was found guilty Wednesday of molesting a four-year-old girl during a burglary at a home in Porterville in 2020, the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office said.

The DA said a Tulare County jury found Serafin Narciso, 44, guilty of one count of assault with the intent to commit a lewd act upon a child during the commission of a first-degree burglary.

The DA also said he was found guilty of two counts of forcible lewd act upon a child under the age of 14 and one count of attempted sexual penetration with a child 10 years or younger.

Around 9 p.m. on April 25, 2020, Narciso entered a Porterville home while its residents were in the backyard, the DA said. According to the DA, inside the home is where he committed the crimes against a female victim who was four at the time.

A jury also found true the special allegation that the crimes were committed during the commission of first-degree burglary.

Sentencing is set for July 16, 2025, in Tulare County Superior Court. Narciso faces life in prison without the possibility of parole. He will also be required to register as a sex offender for the remainder of his life.
