The victim reported to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety on April 15 that he met with two individuals who were interested in purchasing a watch that he was selling. As the meeting at Ellis Elementary School unfolded, one of the suspects took out a handgun and both suspects robbed the man, Sunnyvale DPS said.
The suspects were later identified by law enforcement as Giovanni Velez of San Jose and Enrique Guerrero of Santa Clara. On Wednesday, Sunnyvale’s SWAT team and the San Jose Police Department’s Mobile Emergency Response Group team simultaneously arrested Velez and Guerrero.
The stolen watch was recovered during the arrests, authorities said.
Velez and Guerrero were booked into the Santa Clara County Jail for robbery.
