The crash occurred around 7:50 p.m., approximately 5 miles west of Snyder. According to Texas DPS, Roy Edward Bolen Jr., 54, was driving a white 2001 Ford F-250 westbound when he lost control of the vehicle in rainy conditions.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Bolen was traveling at an unsafe speed for the wet road conditions. The vehicle veered into the south ditch, skidded, and overturned.
Bolen, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles or individuals were involved in the incident.
Bolen was a member of the Snyder Volunteer Fire Department, dedicating nine years to the safety and well-being of the community.
