Petaluma police seek witness info in fatal crash with bicyclist, car

(KRON) — The Petaluma Police Department is investigating a fatal car collision involving a bicyclist on Wednesday afternoon. PPD said they do not think alcohol played a role in the crash.

PPD said its officers and Petaluma Fire Department personnel responded just after 3 p.m. to the area of Ely Boulevard South at Capistrano Drive.

Several neighborhood residents called to report a “serious collision” with an Acura Sedan and the bicyclist, said PPD. The bicyclist died from their injuries at the scene, and their identity is being withheld until their next of kin has been notified.

It is not yet known what caused the crash.
