CHALMETTE, La. (WGNO) — Man wanted for burglary in Chalmette and is a person of interest in two other burglaries.
According to the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, on Sunday morning, May 18, deputies responded to a report of a business burglary on Packenham Avenue in Chalmette. The burglary occurred the night prior. SBSO said a window was broken to gain entry and cash was stolen.
SBSO said detectives reviewed surveillance footage and have named 46-year-old Bryan Joseph as the suspect. Police said Joseph is listed as homeless and is known to frequent the Lower 9th Ward.
SBSO said the following weekend on Sunday, May 25, two businesses in Arabi and Chalmette were burglarized as well. Windows were broken in both businesses to gain access. Investigators believe Joseph may be connected.
SBPSO said surveillance video captured Joseph leaving St. Bernard Parish on a white bicycle via St. Claude Avenue shortly after the burglaries occurred.
