According to court documents, 69-year-old Joseph Triacheff was charged with one count of child solicitation, a Level 5 felony, and one count of attempting to commit the dissemination of matter harmful to minors, a Level 6 felony.
In August 2024, a detective set up a fake account on an adult chat website. The court documents state that the detective created a username of “14Tylerkpop” and said that the user was a 14-year-old looking to meet someone in Indiana.
Within seconds, a person with the username “Joe 55” private messaged the account, and the two began talking. The two reportedly discussed having sexual relations and eventually moved to Telegram, a more secure platform.
During the conversation on Telegram, the adult user, who police allege was Triacheff, reportedly sent naked photos of himself to the alleged teenager and had “graphic sexual conversations” with the user.
Detectives identified the user as Triacheff through information provided by the adult chatroom, including his IP address and email. Law enforcement reportedly tracked him down to an address in Columbus, Ohio.
The court documents said that Triacheff was a “Level 1” sex offender in Ohio after he was convicted of importuning, a Level 5 felony, in Franklin County in 2011.
On Wednesday, the Johnson County Clerk’s Office received a $1,500 cash bond from Triacheff in relation to this case. The total bond was set in the amount of $15,000 cash.
