CHUBBUCK — Police are investigating the death of a man whose lifeless body was spotted in a vehicle parked at the Walmart in Chubbuck Tuesday afternoon.
According to Chubbuck Police Chief Nick Sasser, dispatch received a 911 call around 3:45 p.m. on May 27 reporting an unresponsive man inside a Jeep Cherokee in the store’s parking lot. Chubbuck police and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene.
Sasser said an EMT confirmed the 36-year-old man, believed to be a transient, was deceased.
While no obvious cause of death was apparent, Sasser said drug paraphernalia was found in the Jeep. An autopsy has been scheduled through the Bannock County Coroner’s Office.
Bannock County Coroner Torey Danner said the man’s identity has not yet been released due to the ongoing investigation.
