5-year-old dies after being struck in St. Charles driveway

ST. CHARLES, Ill. — A 5-year-old boy died Tuesday evening after being hit by a vehicle in a driveway.

St. Charles police said the incident happened just before 5:10 p.m. in the 4000 block of Royal Fox Drive.

Officers at the scene located a neighbor performing CPR on the boy and took over. The 5-year-old was transported to Northwestern Delnor Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as an immediate family member and has been cooperative, according to police.

The boy has not been identified at this time.
