Tahaad Pettiford took to Instagram Wednesday afternoon and announced that he’s returning for his sophomore season. He originally declared for the NBA draft April 7 but maintained his college eligibility to participate in the NBA draft combine to get a feel of his draft stock.
Pettiford came off the bench majority of the season, only making one start. Yet, he played a major role, averaging almost 23 minutes a game to go along with 11.6 points and three assists while shooting 36.6% from behind-the-arc. He recorded multiple 20-point performances, including a 23-point game against Creighton in the Sweet 16.
His role is sure to increase next season as he is the lone player from the 2024-25 team that went to the Final Four and won the SEC regular season championship outright.
