The incident happened around 11 a.m. Tuesday. Photos obtained by KRON4 show large chunks of shattered glass covering the food counter at Wan Kee Restaurant, located at 2152 Mission St.
According to the owners, a “visibly agitated” man walked into the restaurant and started punching the glass after he was allegedly told he had to buy something if he wanted it.
“He took his fist and started smashing our display glass on top of the food counter,” said Wan Kee Restaurant. “He then started running away and we chased him for about three blocks.”
The restaurant said the man was eventually apprehended near a thrift store after they were able to flag down an SFPD patrol vehicle in the area.
KRON4 reached out to SFPD for more information, but we did not hear back in time for this report.
