Fatal crash at N. Alpine and Guilford Road intersection in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A 29-year-old man is dead after causing a crash at the intersection of N. Alpine and Guilford Road early Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred around 12:55 a.m. and resulted in all lanes of N. Alpine Road being closed to traffic while police and medical teams responded to the scene.

Rockford police later said the driver of the offending vehicle had died from his injuries.

The medical status of other drivers or passengers is unknown at this time.

N. Alpine was reopened to traffic at 7:52 a.m.
