The Cares Krewe was able to hold and observe some of the many animals WERLA has rescued such as, baby squirrels, baby possums, birds, and many others.
When asked about volunteer opportunities, they said, “So as a volunteer for WERLA, if animal caretaking is one of your interests, baby possums, squirrels, birds, and rabbits are some of the animals you will be taking care of.”
We also asked a current volunteer about her experience and she said, “Volunteering here has been really wonderful. If you’re trying to get any hands on animal experience or just learn about the ecosystem around you then this is a great place to start.”
The Cares Krewe then donated to WERLA to help them continue their mission and rescue more animals in the area.
The Cares Krewe looks for deserving recipients each week! You can nominate someone to receive a surprise today. Just click here to submit your nomination or to give us an idea of an organization deserving of a surprise.
