Purchase orders approved by Fresno Unified’s Board of Education show that $526,326.52 was approved by trustees for the school district to spend at Me-N-Ed’s in 2024. In a statement to YourCentralValley.com, Fresno Unified says the actual amount paid to Me-N-Ed’s in 2024 was $402,977.39.
Fresno Unified, which manages 106 schools and serves 74,000 students, detailed how the money was spent across its sites, adding that “food is often used to support professional learning and training efforts.”
In a follow-up statement, Me-N-Ed’s Pizzeria said it was proud to have been a trusted community partner to the Fresno Unified School District, describing the school programs it offers as more than just pizza, but creating “moments of recognition that motivate students and contribute to a positive school culture.”
