Salt Lake City (ABC4) — An animal shelter in Salt Lake County is currently at capacity, and Salt Lake County Animal Services is looking for people to adopt some of their longest-term residents.

In a Facebook Reel, Salt Lake County Animal Services (SLCAS) showed many of the animals who have been in their shelter the longest, some of which have been residents for over 300 days. It’s not just dogs up for adoption — there is also a turtle named Truffle available, who has been in the shelter for over 50 days.

“They’ve been passed by again and again — but their hearts are still open, their tails still wagging, and they’re ready to love,” SLCAS wrote in the caption.

Some of the dogs looking for their “forever homes” in the Reel include Alexia, who has been in the shelter for over 575 days, Mari Jane, a resident for over 300 days, and Atlin, a resident for over 100 days. All of the long-term dogs featured have lived in the shelter for at least 30 days.

The Salt Lake County Animal Services shelter is open Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., or you can visit their website for more information.
