Find out how you can try a new hobby like glass-blowing, chocolate-making, bonsai-trimming, and so much more.

Make your own stained glass pieces

Linebaugh Studios in Pleasant Grove offers the unique opportunity to learn how to make stained glass pieces. This two-hour class costs $75 per person. You can select from six pre-cut designs and solder the pieces together. Sign up for a class here.

Pour paint to make abstract art

Hawaii Fluid Art has locations in South Jordan and Salt Lake City. You can participate in a variety of classes and make your own special works of art. Their basic fluid art on canvas class is $35 for a child and $65 for an adult. There are also crafts to make a resin beach scene, a resin tumbler, or a glass painting. Just Add Chocolate in Lehi offers hour-long workshops where you can make your own chocolate and take it home. Their basic workshop allows you to make half a pound of chocolate, and it is $18 per person. There’s also a “date night” specialty workshop, which is $41 per couple, and gets you one pound of chocolate, a caramel apple, and free drinks and samples. Pottery Night SLC offers classes for every experience level. Their basic introduction class allows you to use the wheel to spin a clay bowl, then you will trim and glaze your bowl, and they will fire it in the kiln for you. Willow Hill Yarn Company at Gardner Village offers beginner classes for knitting and crocheting. Their beginner classes are $35 per person plus the cost of supplies. The beginner knitting class will teach you two stitches and help you craft fingerless gloves or a dishcloth. The beginner crochet class will teach you basic stitches and patterns, and you will make slippers or a scarf.
