HPD says officers were dispatched to a home at 2:40 p.m. on May 26 in the 300 block of Ragan Avenue. Police said while investigating the incident, officers were told everyone involved knew each other, and this was an ongoing issue.
Officers said that during the incident, a physical altercation happened in front of the house. Police said that following the altercation, two juveniles went into the house. Reportedly, the juveniles came back out with handguns and threatened to shoot one of the victims. One of the guns was described as having a drum-style ammunition magazine. HPD said the two then went back inside.
Police said the victims met the officers at a nearby location and provided video footage of the incident. Officers say they went to the house and detained the two juveniles without incident.
HPD said the homeowner arrived and gave their consent to search the house. During the search, officers said they located two handguns and a drum-style ammunition magazine. Both juveniles were taken into custody.
Police say both suspects are initially charged with:
- Possession of a Handgun by a Minor 1st Offense
- Terrorist Threatening 3rd Degree
- Menacing
HPD says the investigation into the original physical altercation is ongoing
