Sweetheart the Fennec Fox visited Color Me Mine in North Center to serve as the muse for painters in a Sunday art class.
“We thought, ‘What can we do to create an exciting experience for parents, kids, all ages can bond together?'” Niinnu Gupta said.
It’s not the first time Gupta has brought in a guest as inspiration at Color Me Mine. In January, another packed pottery painting event starred Stella the Sloth, who’s a bit slower moving than her artistic counterpart this Sunday.
“They’re like a combination of a dog and a cat and a fox,” Gupta said of the Fennec Fox. “They’re so cute that once you hold them, you don’t want to let them go.”
Gupta said the reason behind events like this one at Color Me Mine is for people to get away from their screens—cellphones, TV’s and computers—and come together in an environment where they can connect with other local area families.
An inspired flair for those in North Center with an eye and the ears for a good time away from technology.
“We get people from all walks of life, all demographics, all ethnicities,” Gupta said. “And to see them create something, which is so close to them, makes us feel so good.”
