2 officers, 5 others taken to hospital following West Side crash

CHICAGO (WGN) — Seven people, including two police officers, were taken to the hospital following a crash late Sunday night on Chicago’s West Side.

According to police, a marked CPD squad car with its lights and sirens on, was traveling southbound on Cicero Avenue around 11 p.m.  The squad car struck a Hyundai sedan in the 400 block of South Cicero Avenue.

After the initial crash, the squad car then struck another car that was traveling northbound on Cicero.

Two officers were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

Five other people were taken to the hospital in good condition.

Citations were issued.
