Businesses open on Memorial Day 

  • 7-Eleven: Whether you need a Big Gulp or cheesy nachos, locations of this chain are open nationwide on Memorial Day, but hours may vary by location. It’s best to call a local store to confirm hours. 
  • Academy Sports + Outdoors: Stores will be open on Memorial Day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. You’ll find a lot on sale, from outdoor cooking, to patio, to camping. Plus, veterans, active-duty military and first responders get 10% off through July 4 in stores and online.
  • Best Buy: Stores will be open 10 a.m. to 8 or 9 p.m., depending on your location, on Memorial Day.
  • Big Lots: Planning a last-minute cookout for Memorial Day? Not a problem. Big Lots is open on Memorial Day from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • BJ’s Wholesale: Whether you need mustard or paper towels, locations of this warehouse store are open regular hours on Memorial Day (that’s 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. for most stores).

  • JCPenney: Stores will be open regular hours, which are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for most stores.
  • Kirkland’s Home: This chain will be open normal business hours, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26.

  • Carrabba’s Italian Grill: Maybe some people will be enjoying a BBQ, but you are feeling like a heaping bowl of pasta. This chain will be open with normal hours, which vary by location.
  • Cheesecake Factory: Grill at home, but go out for dessert because Cheesecake Factory will be open regular hours, which vary by location.
  • Chipotle: Guac may be extra, but it is available. That’s because most Chipotle locations will be open on Memorial Day.
