CHICAGO — A deadly shooting on the city’s West Side early Saturday morning has police searching for answers.

Officers said the shooting unfolded just after 2:30 a.m. in the 1700 block of North Spaulding Avenue, in Humboldt Park.

Officers said the victim, a 35-year-old man, was in his car in the area when he got into an argument with another driver, an unknown male.

According to police, amid the argument, the victim exited his vehicle, but when he got out, the other individual opened fire on him from inside the other car.

The victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Following the shooting, the gunman fled the scene.

Authorities have not yet identified the victim killed and it is currently unclear what led up to the argument.

An investigation into the shooting is now underway.
