Wanted man found with cocaine after welfare check in Rockford hotel: Police

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Eddie Batten III, 48, for allegedly delivering cocaine.

On May 21, around 7:30 a.m., officers were called to the LaQuinta Hotel on Walton Street for a welfare check. Authorities saw Batten, who was a wanted man, outside the hotel room while they were leaving.

The suspect was taken into custody soon after. Police found a “large amount” of cocaine in his pocket, according to court records.

Batten is charged with manufacturing and delivering cocaine.
