Utah restaurant ranked among the world’s best vegan, vegetarian eateries: Tripadvisor

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — A restaurant in Utah has ranked among Tripadvisor’s top 30 vegan and vegetarian restaurants in the world, based on traveler reviews.

Peekaboo Canyon Wood Fired Kitchen in Kanab, Utah, has an average 4.2-star rating from more than 570 reviews. The restaurant was ranked number 28 on Tripadvisor’s “Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Restaurants” list, which has a total of 30 restaurants.

The Kanab eatery is ranked among restaurants in destinations including Morocco, Peru, Indonesia, Egypt, Italy, and more. Tripadvisor said fewer than 1% of its 8 million listings earn a Travelers’ Choice Award.

“The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title celebrates the highest level of excellence in travel,” Tripadvisor explains. “It’s awarded to those who receive a high volume of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period.”

According to Tripadvisor reviews, Peekaboo Canyon Wood Fired Kitchen ranks highly for its atmosphere and food, with average ratings of 4.6 and 4.3, respectively. The restaurant also has positive reviews for service (an average of 4.1) and value (an average of 4.0).

“Peekaboo Canyon Wood Fired Kitchen is Kanab’s only all vegetarian and vegan restaurant offering artisanal wood fired pizza and a full menu of international and local inspired dishes…” the restaurant says online.

Peekaboo Canyon Wood Fired Kitchen is open Tuesday through Sunday, and offers brunch, drinks, lunch, and dinner. According to its website, the restaurant was opened in 2016 by three of the founders of Best Friends Animal Society, which has a sanctuary located in Kanab as well.
