UPDATE: 1:10pm – Crews are patrolling the affected transmission line. Since this is a transmission outage, it is not necessary to report your outage. When the transmission line comes back online, so will your power.
Geographically, customers affected are in the Youngsville area over to Judice/Ridge.
ORGINAL STORY: LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – 12,000 SLEMCO customers in the Lafayette area are with out power. Around 12:30pm, 2 of the electrical companies substations went down.
A spokesperson told KLFY News 10, crews are out on the scene working to restore power. Once power is restored, they will investigate what happened to the two substations to go down.
The companies internet site and phone system were also affected.
