The tornadoes were confirmed in Butler County and Washington County.
Two tornadoes were in Butler County around 4:40 p.m. and both were rated EF0 and were on the ground for less than half a mile each. An EF0 tornado has wind speeds of 65 to 85 miles per hour.
One was about six miles north of Butler and was captured on security camera. The National Weather Service said it caused the roof of the Center Township salt dome to lift off.
The other Butler County tornado was about four miles east in Center Township. The National Weather Service said it was caused by different circulation than the prior tornado and damaged several hardwood trees.
These were the first tornadoes in Butler County since 2021.
The third tornado was in Washington County, rated as an EF1 and caused damage along a 14-mile path, from about four miles north of downtown Washington to the Finleyville area. An EF1 has wind speeds of 86 to 110 miles per hour.
Numerous buildings were damaged along the path.
No injuries were reported as a result of the tornadoes.
