The theft transpired on May 16. Daly City police officers responded to the Macy’s in the Serramonte Center at around 7:13 p.m.
Arriving officers were informed that the suspect and two other people were in the Macy’s when the suspect concealed two fragrance sets in a bag. The suspect attempted to leave the store when the store’s asset protection detective tried to detain the suspect.
According to DCPD, the suspect threw a fragrance set, which struck the asset protection detective in the face. The suspect subsequently punched the detective. More loss prevention officers assisted in detaining the suspect.
Daly City PD said the case was sent to the District Attorney’s Office for a complaint to be filed against the suspect for robbery.
