Dollar Tree is growing its presence in Sioux Falls with two store openings.
The most recent, which is No. 10, opens in the coming days at the Sanford Sports Complex.
The retailer was attracted to the site on the south side of Benson Road by growth in the northwest quadrant of the city, said Ryan Tysdal of Van Buskirk Cos., who represents the retailer in South Dakota.
Dollar Tree joins other retailers in the area such as Fleet Farm, Scooter’s Coffee and a future Culver’s location. The store’s address is 3700 N. Northview Ave.
“In addition to the retail co-tenancy, the site was attractive because of the 2.7 million annual visits to the Sanford Sports Complex,” Tysdal said. “National retailers like being in high-traffic areas. Sanford Health has done an amazing job of creating a retail destination here.”
Interstate 29 draws more than 60,000 vehicles per day — “some of the highest traffic counts in South Dakota,” he said.
Earlier this spring, Dollar Tree opened its new location at Lake Lorraine.
The retailer is in a multi-tenant retail center that includes Wings Gymnastics and Apricot Lane Boutique. The store’s address is 2536 S. Lorraine Place.
“Dollar Tree continues to perform very well in our state,” Tysdal said. “We’re always evaluating the market for additional opportunities.”
