A community member notified LARPD about the glass shards last week, which included other debris. More debris was found earlier this week as LARPD determined a park closure was necessary.
The park will be closed for approximately three to four weeks, officials said. During that time, crews will repair the turf and inspect the soil to ensure they meet safety standards.
In the meantime, officials recommend dog owners and other community members visit other dog parks in the area. May Nissen Dog Park is located at 685 Rincon Ave.
