Crash involving dump truck and car shuts down portion of U.S. 422
LOWER PROVIDENCE TWP., Pa. (WPHL) — A crash involving a car and a dump truck shut down a portion of U.S. 422 East Friday morning.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a dump truck was traveling Westbound on 422 when the driver lost control at mile marker 188.4. The dump truck drove off the left side of the roadway, went through the retaining guide wire barrier, and into oncoming cars on 422 East.

The dump truck hit a silver Ford sedan before it flipped over and spilled its cargo on the road, according to PSP. The driver of the truck suffered minor injuries, but the driver of the sedan is not expected to survive.

As of 12:45 p.m., U.S. 422 East remains shut down between the Oaks exit and Trooper Road.
