The Arkansas State Police fatal crash summary says White was negotiating a curve when his vehicle went off the roadway, down a steep ravine and hit a tree. The road was wet at the time of the 6:10 accident Monday morning on U.S. Highway 63 in Black Rock.
The Highland School District, in a Facebook post Monday, said White was a junior at the school. His obituary says he was a member of the Rebels’ football team.
White is the second student to die while on the way to school at Highland this school year. On Sept. 13 of last year, Brooklyn Grace Pendarvis was killed when she lost control of her vehicle on a rain slick road and was struck by a semi on U.S. Highway 63 in Fulton County.
