TSA PreCheck applications open at Abilene Regional Airport

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Abilene Regional Airport is holding a TSA PreCheck Enrollment Event until Friday, May 23.

According to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), TSA PreCheck simplifies travel within the U.S. Passengers can keep their shoes, belts, and light jackets on, while electronics and 3-1-1 liquids can remain in their bags.

Appointments at the Abilene Regional Airport are available on a first-come, first-served basis; however, it is recommended to apply as early as possible.

To apply for TSA PreCheck, travelers must:

  • Submit an application online at the TSA’s website and schedule an appointment in Abilene, Texas, and select the 5/19 – 5/23 option.
  • If the traveler chooses to enroll in person, they can come to the Abilene Regional Airport and complete the enrollment, which includes their fingerprints and photo for the TSA background check. It is required to provide documents proving your identity and citizenship status.
  • Travelers must get their Known Traveler Number, which takes from three to five days.
