(KRON) — A man suspected of using police-style lights in his car to commit a robbery in Union City was arrested in Vallejo on Sunday, according to police.

The Union City Police Department issued an alert to nearby agencies regarding a robbery that involved an armed suspect impersonating law enforcement by using red and blue wig-wag lights in his Ford Taurus. Vallejo Police Department officers on Sunday spotted a Taurus in the area of Gateway and Griffin drives that matched UCPD’s description of the car, authorities said.

Vallejo officers stopped the vehicle and detained the driver, who was identified as a convicted felon, according to police. A search of the vehicle uncovered ammunition, Vallejo PD said, which violated the terms of the driver’s probation.

Officers conducting a compliance search at the driver’s residence found a loaded unserialized firearm, police-style red and blue lights, a megaphone with siren features, a police-style baton and drug paraphernalia, according to authorities.

A moped reported stolen out of Berkeley was also located in the front yard, police said.

The driver, who was not named by police, was arrested and booked into Solano County Jail for multiple felony charges. The moped was returned to its owner.
